You can make money blogging if you create a blog that:
Is Informative and Interesting
Has AdSense
Has Quality Backlinks
Has Good SEO and Keyword Articles
Is Highly Marketed
If you would like to make money blogging, first think of a topic that interests you. It is best to write about things you're interested in because then you will sound more interesting. The more interesting you are, the more people will come to your blog, and keep coming back.
The more informative your blog is, the more credibility you'll have. Google likes this and you'll get a better rank if you are being informative, factual, or helpful.
If you create a blog, one of the first things you should do is ad AdSense. The first day I had a blog, I made 16 cents on AdSense. That doesn't sound like much, but I didn't do any marketing of my blog. So I made 16 cents without doing any work. Think about how much more you'd make if you got a lot of traffic to your blog.
In order to rank high in Google, you have to have quality backlinks, and a lot of them. Backlinks are just links on other websites that lead to your blog or website. It is best to have backlinks on other websites that are already ranked high in Google. Do a search of your topic and click on a forum that is on the first page of Google results. Sign up to that forum and spend a few days submitting just a couple nice, thoughtful, helpful comments. Then you can start adding your blog link at the bottom of your comment. Make sure every comment you ever leave anywhere is nice, thoughtful, or helpful. Never just put your link. This will add creditbility to your website or blog and everyone will like you. It is very important to earn online friends around the internet.
In order for Google to rank your page high, you need to have good SEO. Choose a keyword and use it 3-4 times in the first 200-300 words. Do not over use your keywords throughout your articles. It will look like keyword spamming. Google will think you are just trying to get a high ranking, instead of providing something useful for internet users.
Market your blog on Facebook, Twitter, and anywhere else you have a large social media audience. Build your credibility with your Facebook and Twitter friends by posting nice, thoughtful, and helpful things without your link, and then offer tips along with your link. Once you start posting your link to social media updates, don't always put your links in every single post. Sometimes you must also act like a normal person on Facebook and Twitter, otherwise people will start to ignore your posts. Tell people about your day. Tell everyone hi, and to have a good day. These small things that only take a few seconds will go a long way. When you do want people to go to one of your pages, act like a normal person, not a salesperson. However, you do need to tempt your audience with a teaser to make them want to read more of what you have to say.
The other way to market your blog is to submit it to search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN/Bing. Also, submit it to social bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon, etc. There is a site called Social Monkee that will submit one url per day to 25 different social bookmarking sites and it is free.
